Ran around Lima all day! Was fun, though. Lima is located on the Pacific coast and is the 5th largest city in Latin America, with a population of 5 million. There are about 27 (?) sectors (kind of like new york's burroughs) and we stayed in Miraflores (which literally translated to "look at the flowers") It's beautiful, but mostly just like a city in the US, so no major culture shock yet. We saw the Pacific coast and the beautiful parks nearby. We also went to Larco Mar, which is kind of an outdoor mall. We went to lunch and everybody picked off of everyone elses plates, but my 2 favorite things were the Ceviche (raw fish that is cooked by lemon juice so that the bacteria is killed) and the Avocado stuffed with chicken. With our lunch, most of us drank Chicha Morada, which is a traditional drink of purple corn juice. It was... interesting, lol. I had a nice nap here in the hotel we are in for tonight and tomorrow night. (It is technically a hostal, but there are separate rooms and stuff, we needed something cheap) After our nap we went back to Larco Mar to get gelato and then to dinner. After dinner we went to Son de Cuba which is a salsa dancing club type thing, because they have a live band that is actually from Cuba and Cornforth said that they are amazing. So we wait for them because a server said they go on at 11:30. It was 10. We wait an hour and a half only to find out that they only play Tuesdays through Saturdays. So we come back to the hotel/hostal and here I am.
Overall today was good. I got to practice my Spanish a little and had quite a few near-death experiences with the traffic here, lol. The taxi ride home tonight was definitely the most interesting. Got it on video :) But we cannot forget about the abnormal amount of couples all over each other here, too.
Lima's coast at sunset was absolutely beautiful. I have no idea how to explain it. You just have to trust me on this one.
Oh yeah, if you guys want more blogs from this trip, there are:

Tomorrow we are doing some tour of the city on a bus. I'm not sure what all it includes, but I do know it includes the catacombs beneath the city. Scary! I think we are also going to try to go to the museum of anthropology. Interesting, right? Pictures tomorrow :)
